The rumors that eighties pop stars Tiffany and Debbie Gibson hated each other back in the day are greatly exaggerated (if you ask them). But certainly, their new monster flick on Syfy, "Mega Python vs. Gatoroid" revisits the old "rumors."

"It's two very strong women and neither one of us are this pristine good girl," Gibson says in a Syfy Q & A video. "Yes, we're justified in our cause, but we're both a little bit off the mark. I'm like, 'Save the pythons, but kill everything else!'"

Playing off the current crisis in the Florida Everglades where Burmese pythons are threatening the area's alligator population, Gibson plays a fanatical animal rights activist pitted against Tiffany's character, who is an overzealous park ranger.

"When I first read the script for this movie, I laughed," Tiffany says. "It's very campy. It was very fun. It was everything it was meant to be I felt."

In the interview, the stars talk about how they're very similar to their passionate characters, their appreciation of science fiction fans compared to their teen fans and the songs they wrote that were inspired by the movie.
